The pianist Daniel Röhm, born in Böblingen in 1974, began playing the piano at the age of 3.

After private studies with Paul Buck in Stuttgart, he continued his studies at the University of Music Lübeck with prof. Konrad Elser and later in Munich with Gerhard Oppitz.

Daniel Röhm won prizes at the International Franz Liszt Competition in Weimar, the Wartburg Piano Competition in Eisenach, the International Piano Competition "Maria Canals" in Barcelona, the "Lions Clubs International" Piano Competition and the Possehl Competition in Lübeck. In addition, he received the prize of the "Mozart Foundation Stuttgart" and twice the prize of the "German Association of Musicians Baden-Württemberg.

Daniel Röhm was a scholarship holder of the "Marie-Luise Imbusch Foundation", the Richard Wagner Association, the "Jürgen Ponto Foundation" and the "Friedrich Jürgen Sellheim Foundation" Hanover.

Concert engagements with various chamber and symphony orchestras, as well as invitations to piano recitals in Germany and abroad and to festivals such as the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the "Liszt en Provence" Festival, the Brahms Festival Lübeck and the "Youth Art Festival Hong Kong" have taken him through large parts of Europe as far as the Far East. As a soloist Röhm performed among others with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bergische Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ulm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen, the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, the Banatul Symphony Orchestra, the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, the Südwestdeutsche Kammerorchester Pforzheim, the Sinfonietta Köln and the Suk-Chamber-Orchestra and worked with conductors such as Ruben Gazarian, Jac van Steen, Gabriel Feltz, Alastair Willis, Christoph Müller, Cornelius Frowein, Pavel Baleff and Gheorghe Costin.

In May 2015, Daniel Röhm caused a sensation on the music scene when he performed Brahms's 2nd piano concerto in a concert of the Staatskapelle Weimar within 5 hours.

Daniel Röhm also dedicates himself to the field of chamber music with great commitment. His chamber music partners include outstanding musicians such as the cellists Daniel Müller-Schott, Julian Steckel, Wen Sin Yang, to name but a few.

Radio and television productions as a soloist, chamber musician and in four-handed instrumentation with Alfredo Perl have taken Röhm to stations such as NDR, SWR, MDR, Deutschlandradio Berlin and Bayrische Rundfunk.

Daniel Röhm pays special attention to rarely played repertoire. Daniel Röhm produced several first recordings of piano works by Brahms' contemporary Theodor Kirchner for SWR Stuttgart and Deutschlandradio Berlin as well as arrangements for piano for two hands of the love songs Waltzes, the Gypsy songs and the "Variations on a Theme by Schumann op.23" by Johannes Brahms, also arranged by Theodor Kirchner.

Daniel Röhm was the first German pianist to perform the 3rd piano concerto by Pancho Vladigerov and was soloist at the German premiere of the 2nd piano concerto by Selim Palmgren.

Daniel Röhm's discography, highly praised by the specialist press, includes 2 recordings on the Genuin label (works by Schubert, Schubert-Liszt, Liszt) and piano works by Ernst von Dohnanyi on the cpo label. His debut CD with late piano sonatas by F. Schubert (C minor; A major, Genuin) was awarded the SUPERSONIC-AWARD. Röhms broad repertoire ranges from the baroque era to the present.

In 2014 Daniel Röhm accepted the offer of a professorship at the University of Stavanger, Norway.
